Past, present and future the sports card collecting days have changed. Starting with the prices from one cent to several hundred dollar packs to set building, autographs, relics and more. It is understandable to have the high end packs/boxes but need more of the less expensive so more people especially kids can afford this great hobby. Building sets is always fun but it has gotten to be harder to complete them with all of the insert sets that are out today. Autographs and relics are always in demand and fun to look for but rookie card collecting is always fulfilling and can be just as valuable. Protecting your collection can be expensive but definitely worth the price with grading. There are three top grading/authentication companies that I would suggest and they are as follow: Professional Sports Association (PSA), Beckett Grading Services (BGS) and Global Authentication Services (GAS). And one of the biggest changes in this hobby is the online case breaking which is fun to join in but definitely need a budget for. It is always fun opening packs/boxes but every now and then purchase a card single or two that you would like either online, hobby stores or at shows. Check back here for more insight on some of these same topics and don't forget the most important thing in this hobby, Have Fun Collecting.
First of all, I just wanted to begin by thanking everyone that came out to the Grand Opening to make it a very fun and successful event. Trade Night here at Kenny's Collectibles is monthly and it is for the collectors to come in to have fun meeting and trading with each other. For future Trade Nights there will be other activities to extend the fun. There is plenty of room to sit down either sorting out card singles, ripping wax packs or looking through albums. Walking through the store people can see comics, sports figures, bobble heads, albums, records, die-cast cars, shirts, caps, jerseys, Barbie dolls and a lot more. Need card supplies, the store has cardboard boxes, sleeves, top-loaders, albums, pages for albums, magnetic holders, screw down holders, display cases and more. Nice selection of sports memorabilia, largest card singles and hobby wax selection in Austin! Next time in the neighborhood come on by to join the collectors experience.
